Writing your first program

Follow these three steps to make your first program:

Type the following into the the box where it says Enter source code here:

abracadabra();

Make sure you type exactly as it says.

Click Check source code.

By doing this the stuff you have typed will be checked to see if the computer can understand it.

If you get a message saying that something went wrong - don't panic! You will be told what to fix.

Click Run! to run your little program.

Now you have made your first program!

You can click Run! again if you want to run your program more times.

Semicolon

The character ; is called semicolon and is a very important character in programming. You type it by pressing shift+comma.
